Eurofarma was founded in 1972, and figures among the biggest pharmaceutical companies in Brazil. It works in most pharmaceutical segments through its Business Units – Medical Prescription (Farma), Generics, Hospitals & Biddings, Oncology, Third Party and Pearson (Animal care). Eurofarma produces about 155 million boxes of medication per year on its 5 operating plants. The company started as an outsourcing for other pharmaceuticals, but later focused on their own products for people and animal care. Nowadays Eurofarma has the largest team for medical advertising, with more than 2000 members, doing about 450.000 contacts with doctors every month. The company aims to cover 90% of the Latin American market, so as to reinforce its regional presence. The recently launched Itapevi Industrial Complex is responsible for broadening the production capacity of the plant, turning into an important source for the national and international distribution system.
